Perfect Pens for All
People
-
Apple Wooden Pens
- A
dense, fine-grained, rosy-coloured wood with a slightly sweet smell. The
Apple was regarded as the fruit of immortality, of choice, and love in Celtic
Mythology. Apple wood is believed to help all of us to keep our trust in hard
times, and teach us our true power is built up by giving, in open-hearted
generosity. Professions may include
charity workers, nurses, doctors, and all those in the caring services.
-
Beech Wooden Pens
- Beech is closely grained and very easy to work to achieve a smooth even surface. At one time beech tablets were used as writing surfaces because of these qualities. Beech is concerned with ancient knowledge as revealed in old objects, places and writings. It indicates guidance from the past to gain insight which protects and provides a solid base upon which all relies.
Professions may include Teachers,
historians, and Journalists.
- Elm Burr Wooden Pens
- Elm is often associated with Mother and Earth Goddesses, and Elm trees were said to be the abode of faeries. Elm wood is valued for it's resistance to splitting, and the inner bark was used for cordage and chair caning. Elm adds stability and grounding. Professions may include
Carers such as Farmers, Aid Workers, Midwives, and mothers.
-
Holly Wooden Pens - A Beautiful white wood with an almost invisible grain; looks very much like ivory. Holly is associated with the death and rebirth symbolism of winter in both Pagan and Christian lore. It was used in the construction of spear shafts and is believed to have the qualities of balance and directness. A
Holly pen may be used to provide balance and vigour to fight if the cause is just -
perfect for a Solicitor,
Clergy, Military Personnel or Politician perhaps.
-
Horse Chestnut Wooden Pens - First introduced to the UK from the Balkans in
the 16th century, it was not until about 200 years later that the fruits of
the horse chestnut trees were used to play "conkers" and also to
heal horses with breathing difficulties. The Chestnut Tree, also known
as the Honesty, is of unusual beauty. Its timber is light in weight and not
very strong although it was once used to make artificial limbs. It
is said to have a well-developed sense of justice, and is a born
diplomat. Professions may include Horse Jockeys and Owners,
Diplomats, Solicitors and Judges, teachers and law enforcers.
- Pear Wooden Pens
- A richly
coloured and fine-grained wood. The pear tree is often mentioned in
literature and folklore connected with love and temptation. The pear is very
closely related to the apple (some botanists believe it to be the same genus),
and therefore has many of the same associations as the apple in folklore and
mythology. Pearwood is traditionally used to carve musical wind
instruments such as the flute and recorder. Professions may include
musicians or music lovers, as well as those involved in caring for others.
- Sycamore Pens - Sycamore is not native to the British Isles,
but to central and southern Europe. It has naturalised over the past two
hundred years. It spreads vigorously on waste ground by winged fruits
which twirl through the air like helicopter blades in October.
Sycamore is a lovely soft white coloured wood.
Professions that may enjoy receiving Sycamore pens could include Pilots, air
crew and avid travellers.
- Yew Wooden Pens - Long associated with magic, death and rebirth and the runes, the
Yew may be the oldest-lived tree in the world. Yew may be used to enhance magical and psychic abilities and to induce visions.
A great pen for a Writer, Media Person or
Entrepreneur.
Unique Quality Since wood is a natural resource, minor colour variations occur in all pens, making each one unique!
Pen Care
and Refills To maintain your wooden pen's lovely soft sheen please apply a small amount of natural beeswax and buff when the pen starts to dull. To
change refills, pull apart the two main
halves of the pen. Once separated gently unscrew
the refill from the pen barrel and then add the new refill before pushing
the main pieces back together.
